Workflow
How Accommodation Check-out Works in Kasura
Check-out is the accommodation process in which occupancy ends, notes and photos may be recorded, and the deposit is resolved — with no odometer, fuel or vehicle-condition component.
When this workflow is used
This workflow runs when a guest's stay ends and the accommodation unit needs to be checked out, its deposit resolved, and the unit moved toward its next readiness state.
Ending the stay
Check-out can only be started once check-in has been completed for that booking. Staff open check-out from the active booking; the dialog itself is titled 'Check-out', distinct from the 'Return Scooter' dialog used for vehicles.
Notes, photos and deposit resolution
Staff may add optional check-out notes and photos, then resolve the deposit through one of three paths: return it in full, deduct one or more itemized amounts from it (each with its own reason), or keep it in full. There is no odometer, fuel or vehicle-condition field anywhere in this flow.
Transition to room readiness
Completing check-out sets the unit's status back to available and, where room-readiness tracking is enabled, marks the room as dirty rather than immediately ready. The room only becomes bookable again for check-in once its readiness status is set to ready.
Resulting operational state
After check-out, the booking is marked checked-out and the unit becomes available again, entering the dirty readiness state when room-readiness tracking is enabled — not automatically ready.
How this differs from a vehicle return
Vehicle return shares the same underlying dialog component but is a functionally different process: it captures odometer, fuel level and vehicle condition and has a Fast Track shortcut, none of which apply to accommodation check-out; a returned vehicle re-enters the fleet, while a checked-out unit stays on-site and only changes readiness state.
What this workflow does not mean
- Accommodation check-out is not a vehicle return under a different label — it has no odometer, fuel or vehicle-condition fields, and there is no Fast Track option for accommodation.
- The unit does not leave the property at check-out; it stays physically on-site and only its readiness status changes.
- Room readiness is not a full housekeeping task-management suite — it tracks a ready, dirty or cleaning status, not a scheduled cleaning workflow or staff task list.
- Check-out does not automatically verify a guest's identity or passport, and it does not sync with a channel manager or any OTA.
