Payment Terms

How subscription billing, Stripe payments, and end-customer payments work on Kasura.

Effective: May 16, 2026Last updated: June 25, 20267 min read

Overview

#

These Payment Terms supplement the Terms of Service and describe payment-related matters when you use Kasura. Kasura LLC ("Kasura") provides rental operations software; payment flows fall into two distinct contexts:

  • Your Kasura subscription. You pay Kasura for access to the platform (subscription plan, add-ons, and related fees).
  • End customer payments. You collect payments from renters or bookers for your rental business through integrations you enable. You — not Kasura — are the merchant for those transactions.

Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

These Payment Terms apply only to payment-related matters. In the event of a conflict between these Payment Terms and the Terms of Service regarding payment processing, billing, or subscription fees, these Payment Terms prevail to the extent of that conflict.

Subscription billing

#

Access to Kasura requires an active subscription plan unless otherwise agreed in writing. Subscription fees, billing intervals (monthly or annual where offered), and included features are shown at checkout and in your workspace billing settings. Quoted subscription amounts shown before Stripe checkout are subtotals. All prices exclude applicable taxes. Taxes are calculated securely by Stripe during checkout. Applicable VAT, GST or sales tax will be added where required by law.

  • Fees are billed in advance for each billing period unless stated otherwise
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel in accordance with our Cancellation Policy
  • Price changes apply to subsequent renewal periods after notice as described in the Terms
  • Failed subscription payments may result in restricted access, suspension, or termination after reasonable notice

You are responsible for ensuring that your billing information, payment methods, and contact details remain accurate and up to date. Failure to do so may result in failed payments, interrupted access, or delayed billing notifications.

For cancellation and renewal timing, see our Cancellation Policy.

Stripe (Kasura subscription)

#

Kasura uses Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates ("Stripe") as a payment processor for subscription and platform fees you pay to Kasura. When you subscribe, you may be asked to provide payment details directly to Stripe or through a Stripe-hosted flow.

For your Kasura subscription, Kasura is the seller of the software service. Stripe processes the payment on our behalf. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy policy. Kasura does not store full payment card numbers for subscription billing.

Merchant of record

#

Two different payment relationships

  • Kasura subscription: Kasura (via Stripe) charges you for the Service. Kasura is the merchant of record for platform fees.
  • End customer rentals: You are the merchant of record for charges to your end customers (rental fees, deposits, extras, penalties, or similar). Kasura provides software to help you quote, invoice, and collect payment; it does not become a party to your rental contract with the end customer.

You are responsible for pricing, refunds, disputes, and regulatory obligations related to your end customer transactions, including consumer protection and rental-specific rules in your jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Payment Terms creates a partnership, agency, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship between Kasura and any Operator regarding payments collected from end customers.

Payment methods

#

Accepted payment methods depend on Stripe, your country, and configuration:

  • Major credit and debit cards (where supported by Stripe)
  • Bank transfers, e-wallets, or local payment methods where enabled by Stripe and your settings
  • Manual or offline payment recording in the Service (cash, bank transfer marked paid outside integrated checkout) — reconciliation is your responsibility

Kasura may add or remove supported methods as Stripe and product capabilities change. We do not guarantee availability of any specific method in every region.

Availability of specific payment methods may change without notice as Stripe introduces, modifies, or discontinues supported payment options.

Failed payments

#

Subscription. If payment for your Kasura subscription fails, we may retry collection according to the processor's rules, notify you by email, and restrict features until payment succeeds. Persistent failure may lead to suspension or termination under the Terms.

End customer payments. If an end customer's payment fails or is declined, you are responsible for follow-up, alternative payment, or cancellation of the booking according to your policies. Kasura may surface status in your workspace but does not guarantee recovery of funds.

Kasura may temporarily restrict access to subscription-related features while payment issues remain unresolved. Access may be restored once outstanding subscription fees have been successfully collected.

Taxes

#

All prices exclude applicable taxes. Taxes are calculated securely by Stripe during checkout. Applicable VAT, GST or sales tax will be added where required by law. Tax amounts are based on your billing address and local rules. Amounts shown before checkout are subscription subtotals and may not include tax.

You are solely responsible for taxes on your rental income and for determining, collecting, and remitting taxes on end customer transactions (including tourist taxes, VAT on rentals, or withholding where required). Kasura does not provide tax advice and does not automatically calculate every jurisdiction-specific rental tax unless a feature explicitly states that it does.

Operators are responsible for determining whether additional invoicing, bookkeeping, accounting, or tax reporting obligations apply within their jurisdiction.

Refunds

#

Kasura subscription. Refunds for platform fees are handled according to the Terms and Cancellation Policy. Unless required by law or explicitly stated at purchase, fees for the current billing period are generally non-refundable once the period has started.

End customer payments. Refunds to your end customers are your decision and obligation, subject to your rental terms and applicable consumer law. When processed through Stripe, refunds must be initiated through the Service or Stripe tools according to Stripe rules and timing. Processing fees charged by Stripe may be non-refundable.

Billing disputes about your Kasura subscription should be sent to billing@kasura.app.

Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, financial institution, payment method, and applicable banking procedures.

Chargebacks and disputes

#

Subscription chargebacks. If you dispute a Kasura subscription charge with your bank or card issuer, contact billing@kasura.app first so we can investigate. Unresolved chargebacks may result in account suspension.

End customer chargebacks. Chargebacks on rental payments are between you, the end customer, and the payment provider. You are responsible for providing evidence, responding within provider deadlines, and bearing chargeback fees or losses as per your agreement with the processor. Kasura may display dispute status but is not liable for chargeback outcomes.

Operators are responsible for maintaining sufficient documentation to respond to payment disputes, including booking confirmations, rental agreements, signed documents, customer communications, and payment records where applicable.

Deposits and pre-authorizations

#

If you use deposit, hold, or pre-authorization features, you configure amounts and rules. Funds are handled by the payment provider according to your settings and provider capabilities.

You are responsible for clearly communicating deposit terms to end customers, releasing or capturing holds timely, and complying with card network and local rules on security deposits. Kasura is not responsible for damage assessments or disputes over deposit retention.

Availability of deposit holds, delayed capture, card pre-authorizations, or similar payment features depends on the capabilities of the connected payment provider and may not be available in every country or for every payment method.

Currency

#

Your Kasura subscription is billed in the currency shown at checkout (commonly USD unless otherwise stated for your region or offer).

End customer payments may be configured in currencies supported by your payment provider and plan. Exchange rates, conversion fees, and settlement currency for payouts are determined by the payment provider and your account settings, not by Kasura.

Operators are responsible for understanding any exchange-rate fluctuations, foreign transaction fees, settlement delays, or currency conversion costs applied by their payment provider or financial institution.

Payment provider availability

#

Kasura integrates with Stripe to simplify payment collection and subscription billing. Availability of payment methods, onboarding requirements, supported countries, payout schedules, verification procedures, and compliance requirements are determined by Stripe and may change over time.

Kasura does not guarantee continued availability of any specific Stripe payment method, country, currency, or integration capability.

Operator responsibilities

#

As an Operator using payment features, you agree to:

  • Maintain valid payment methods for your Kasura subscription
  • Complete any required identity or business verification with Stripe
  • Use payment features only for legitimate rental business purposes
  • Provide accurate pricing, descriptions, and refund policies to end customers
  • Comply with card network rules, anti-money-laundering obligations, and the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Not use Kasura to process payments unrelated to your authorized rental operations
  • Keep payout and banking details current with your payment provider
  • Ensure payment provider accounts remain in good standing
  • Respond promptly to verification or compliance requests from Stripe
  • Keep refund, cancellation, and deposit policies consistent across public booking websites, customer communications, and contractual documents

Violation may result in suspension of payment features or your account under the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

Limitation of payment responsibility

#

Kasura is not responsible for payment provider outages, banking interruptions, settlement delays, frozen accounts, verification requests, regulatory actions, payout holds, fraud investigations, or financial losses resulting from the actions or decisions of payment providers, financial institutions, card networks, or regulatory authorities.

Operators remain responsible for maintaining compliant payment provider accounts and for managing their relationships with those providers.
