Payment Status

Payment status in Kasura shows whether the rental amount for a booking is unpaid, partially paid or paid.

In Kasura

Payment status in Kasura is the booking-level state of the rental amount, shown as unpaid, partially paid, or paid. It exists so staff can quickly see whether rental money is still due without mixing that question with other money layers. Deposit handling is related but different: deposits are held security and later resolved by return, deduction, or retention with a reason, while payment status answers only whether the rental amount itself has been paid. Booking payment entries can update this state, but the entries and the status are not the same thing. Kasura SaaS billing is also separate: that is the operator's subscription payment to Kasura and must never be treated as a customer booking payment state. In short, payment status is an operational booking field that supports day-to-day rental workflow clarity; it is not accounting reconciliation, revenue recognition, or a generalized financial ledger.

Not to be confused with

Payment status is not accounting reconciliation, not revenue recognition, and not Kasura SaaS billing; it is only the booking-level rental amount state.

Why this exists

A booking needs a clear rental-amount state so staff can see immediately whether money is still due before handover or completion.
