Why these concepts are confused
Reading the shared return/check-out dialog as evidence of one generic process obscures that a vehicle needs condition, odometer and fuel capture because it was out of sight, while accommodation needs a readiness transition because the unit never left.
Operational difference
Treating vehicle return and accommodation check-out as one generic 'end the booking' step, with only field labels swapped per workspace type, would either force odometer and fuel fields onto accommodation, which has neither, or drop the readiness-state transition for vehicles, which has no equivalent.
