Room Readiness

Room readiness is an accommodation-only status showing whether a unit is ready, dirty or being cleaned.

In Kasura

Room readiness is an accommodation-only status in Kasura, tracked on each unit as one of three values: ready, dirty or being cleaned. It exists because an accommodation unit stays in place — unlike a vehicle, it is never out of the business's sight — so the relevant operational question after a guest checks out is not what condition it came back in, but how quickly it can be turned around for the next guest. The daily rhythm of an accommodation business follows a fixed pattern of departures, a turnaround window, and arrivals, and room readiness is the status field that makes that turnaround visible: a unit moves from occupied to dirty at check-out, to cleaning while work is in progress, and to ready once it can be sold again. This status appears on the accommodation operations board alongside today's check-ins and check-outs, giving staff a single place to see which units need attention and which are ready to sell. Room readiness is explicitly not a housekeeping module: Kasura shows and changes the status, but it does not assign cleaning tasks to specific staff, schedule cleaning shifts, or manage a cleaning workflow of its own. Any business needing task assignment or scheduling for housekeeping staff needs a separate tool for that; Kasura's role stops at making the readiness state itself visible and configurable per workspace.

Not to be confused with

That room readiness is a housekeeping module with cleaning tasks, staff assignment or scheduling; it is a status on the unit only.

Why this exists

A hotel never receives its rooms back, so its operational question is not what condition an item returned in, but how quickly a unit becomes ready for the next guest.
