Booking Lifecycle
The Kasura booking lifecycle moves every booking through reserved, active and returned states, with cancellation possible before it becomes active.
What problem this solves
Without a defined lifecycle, staff and integrations would lack a shared vocabulary for what stage a booking is in.
Why the alternative is insufficient
Treating a booking as one static record without stages would make it impossible to distinguish an upcoming reservation from an active rental.
How Kasura handles it
A booking's current stage determines which actions (pickup, return, check-in, check-out) are available on it.
What this does not mean
That a vehicle reservation and an accommodation stay follow entirely separate lifecycles; both follow the same reserved/active/returned progression under different terminology.
