Workspace Type

A workspace type in Kasura determines which terminology, statuses, operational flows and interfaces a workspace uses. Two workspace types are available today — vehicle rental and accommodation — with equipment planned but not yet creatable. The workspace type is a foundational choice made when a workspace is created, and it drives nearly every other aspect of that workspace's behavior: which handover process applies (pickup and return for vehicles, check-in and check-out for accommodation), which fields appear on assets (odometer and fuel level for vehicles, room readiness status for accommodation), and which operational visibility screens are available (a whiteboard for vehicle workspaces, an operations board for accommodation workspaces). This exists because vehicle rental and accommodation are operationally different processes, not variants of the same underlying process with different labels — a generic asset model with a category field would otherwise push domain-specific data into free-text or custom fields and lose the ability to actually drive the process. Workspace type is not something a business changes after creation; it is fixed at setup.
