Driver's License Record

Kasura can store driver's license number, class, expiry date and an image; it does not verify licenses against any authority.

In Kasura

Kasura's driver's license record stores license number, class, expiry date and a photograph as part of a customer's record, so staff have a reference to check against during vehicle handover. What Kasura explicitly does not do is verify these details against any government authority, perform an automated document check, or make any determination of validity — the storage is for staff reference only. This distinction matters more than it might first appear: automatic license verification is part of the standard feature set that people commonly assume rental software provides, and a claimed check that does not actually happen is a worse outcome than no verification at all, because it can cause an operator to stop performing their own manual due diligence, believing the system already handled it. Kasura's documentation is therefore explicit — it uses the language of 'storing' license details, never 'verifying' or 'validating' them. The same principle applies to any other identity or travel document Kasura stores. License fields are configurable through the standard field-visibility mechanism, so a business can make them visible, required, or hide them entirely depending on its own compliance process — but the compliance judgment itself remains entirely with the operator.

Not to be confused with

That Kasura verifies driver's licenses against an authority; it stores the details, it does not verify them.

Why this exists

Kasura stores driver's licence and identity details so staff can check them during handover, and does not claim automatic verification because a claimed check that does not happen shifts liability onto the operator.
